i have an exam at 11:30AM.

but uhm...instead of studying (STUDYING! BAH! who does that?), i`m searching for a new phone.

yes, i realize i have a phone already - my beloved baeley, my motorola Q9H - but baeley`s broken. not necessarily to the point of unusable, but with a broken spacebar, it makes typing very hard. & we all know i love text messaging (if you don`t know that, you should know that).

so i`m searching for a new smartphone.

my best friend wants me to get a blackberry, which i would do, but of blackberries, i really only like his phone - the bold - & i don`t necessarily want to get the same phone as him. so what to do? what to do?

tell me, readers, what should i get?

i found this awesome & hilarious, as i was wearing just about the EXACT same thing on friday - except my hat is a bright turquoise, & i was wearing dark blue jeans, & my bag is faux-suede & faux-shearling.

(1)these boys are hawt.
(2)this boy must share the same inspirations as me when it comes to dressing. hence, he is hawt.
(3)so is this boy.

i sorely wish to be best friends with a supremely stylish boy, who will indulge me by allowing me to steal parts of their wardrobe to add to my own, but who will also steal parts of my wardrobe because it just fits their aesthetic so.
anyone know where to find me a friend like that?

Failsafe night

Forewarning: this post is just built to fail since all words are unfit in describing the indescribable events that went down last night. The words awesome, epic, stupendous, sublime, fall terribly short in explaining the time between 7-12AM on November 13, 2008. Lives were saved, asses were shook and only good times were to be had. Usually I'd erupt in a rant describing how bad my grammar is by now but honestly NOTHING makes sense anymore other than Andrew McMahon's voice.

So instead of further killing last nights experience with words I'll bestow upon you photographic proof of Andrew's awesomeness.

HECK she's still smiling as you read this, for she was touched by divinity in the form of a Jack's Mannequin concert.

well, yes, i`m serious. i haven`t posted in a while (life caught up & i decided to take advantage of the fact that there are more people on our blogging team), but here it is : proof jae is not dead.

somehow, i seemed to have missed the part where summer stopped & autumn began.
it`s just..here.
not that i`m complaining. i do love me some autumn.
aside from it being the season of my birthday, it`s also the best season to dress for!

as soon as i could, i began to lust for headgear.
hats, hoodies, scarves, etc...
i mean, who doesn`t like headgear? my hair is in that transitional stage of not-too-short, not-too-long, not-cooperating-but-getting-along so headgear is a blessing on those days when only my bangs are listening.

[note to self: MUST GET HAIR CUT.]


[cream & gold oversized beret: h&m] i love this hat. it was under ten dollars, super cute & goes with my clothes perfectly. plus it`s lightweight so it doesn`t get hot wearing it, but it keeps me warm.


[black tommy hilfiger toque: stolen from brother] this hat used to be my brother`s, but he refuses to wear it so i took it. it`s warm & would be good in winter.


[purple hoodie: stitches] i love hoodies. love them love them love them. & i love to pose too. such a good combo.]


[scarf: h&m] steph bought me this for my birthday last year, & i still love it off. i`ve never worn a scarf like that before, but i think it looks pretty good.


[scarf: ardene] this picture is actually from summertime, but i thought i`d include it because it`s interesting. i never wear headbands like that, so i thought it would be kinda cool to dress like a hippy. feels so seventies.


my cousin & the friend who fashioned a hat out of a plastic bag for him. isn`t it cool? & it could actually be pretty functional.


regine, with her taekwondo belt wrapped around her head. yes, it counts as headgear (although not really practical for everyday use). she did a dance wearing it & it didn`t fall off. it was cute & hilariously funny to watch.


my best friend, neil, with his hood on (pleading "bad hair day"). see, hoods`r`us. & also, does he not have the straightest teeth ever? he makes me wish i`d gotten braces when i was little.


cute little itty bitty baby. isn`t she adorable? she`s the daughter of a family friend, & this dress was absolutely cute. [note: i put her hood on her head for her, expressly for this photo...she got annoyed immediately & pulled it off. but still, cute nonetheless!]

first of all, a time-line of my hair.

i had longer-ish hair, before february. i wanted to cut it after exams [in april], but i got impatient, so steph & another friend of ours (kim) cut it for me in february.
before the cut, this was my hair...

(tres long et impossible...i didn`t even show it in it`s impossible glory.)

& after the cut, this was my hair...

(like a day or two after, in all it`s layered, wavy, asymmetrical glory.)

i let it grow a bit more...i wanted to get a new cut soon...but i wanted to wait until AFTER summer; before school, so i could be the cool kid on the block.

(this was my hair, about a week before the new cut. that`s my sister with me, with her hair up. she`s cool.)

unfortunately, the trend with me is that i`m very impatient. which led to me cutting it. which meant that it went from all that, to this.

END TIMELINE.

so today was my church`s 9th anniversary! it was a pretty big event, a lot of people, a lot of food, a lot of stuff. i`m on the church dance team, so we were busy practicing for weeks & weeks before this event. i only managed a few pictures here & there.


these three are on the dance team, & were in the red group this time. they`re always trying to come up with variations on the same outfit.


i was on the blue team :)


this cutie was holding my cellphone, opening it & closing it & saying, "hello?"


this adorable little girl dragged me to the wall, pressed her back up against it & said, "cheese!"
she was very quick to return to a little frown. she always look so serious, it`s so cute!

that`s all i could share for today, but what do you think of the hair? i`ve had mixed reviews about it. it`s the shortest it`s ever been since i was a child, & i`m thinking of trimming it a bit shorter...but i don`t know.

When people say that boredom creates no productivity. Thats a lie for my case, after a long and stressful day of studying for my exam. I was curious to know what certain terms meant, preferably vulgar terms. Urban dictionary fulfilled that, until I ran out of words.....and moved on to sillier things like names...my name.......

Natasha -> In Turkey, "Natasha" is a slang term meaning "prostitute". In particular, the word refers to Russian prostitutes.

- Usage in a sentence -> Let's get drunk and pick up some Natashas tonight.

Okay so there are more positive ones, but seriously who doesn’t like the dirty ones!

Steph’s is not that dirty but definitely is quiet true (wink, nudge, wink, nudge, push off the ledge)

Jae -> A skank, whore, or considerably promiscuous person; in this case, preferably one of Korean heritage. May also be used to refer to someone that gets laid, but complains that they do not get laid as much as they should be. One who loves sex

i know we all love gossip girl. i know i do, & the rest of us at SOS do, so i`m going to automatically assume we all do.
i wished to myself that there was a way i could download it to put it on my ipod [i know, downloading? so illegal & not cool!].
then, i found this. GOSSIP GIRL ONLINE. this link i provided you gives you a way to download it, & it looks actually pretty much legit, compared to those funky chinese sites where i would normally have gone in search of gossip girl goodness.

& also, i love the music on GG. a lot, in fact. i figured, we all love music, right? so why not check a look at THIS BEAUTIFUL SITE, where the soundtrack list is found. i`m in love with everything on it. & the plus to this is, while i`m listening to some of these songs, i narrate the scene from gossip girl in which the song played. in my head, of course. it`s a lot of fun.

according to the virgins, one week of danger is not very long.
thought i`d throw that in, even though it has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with today`s post.

& here are my six quirks.
[1] i`m a bit obsessive-compulsive. [a bit is quite the understatement.]
-numbers must be odd, especially on the volume. i set my alarm clocks to ODD numbered times. i must do things in odd numbers. i will leave the last piece of cereal in the bowl if it cannot be joined with the other pieces in odd numbers on my spoon. i calculate if the time is an odd number. [note: there are twenty-seven asterisks in the lines that are separating each section of this post.]
-drawstrings on hoodies must be EQUAL length. collars must either both be UP [in that dorky cool way] or DOWN [in the normal way]. sleeves must be rolled up to the same length. pant legs must be cuffed exactly the same length. the only thing i don`t mind is hair that is asymmetrical. both steph & i have asymmetrical haircuts...i think if i minded, i`d cut my own head off.
-doors & closets & cupboards must be closed. i cannot stress that enough.
[2] i`m a severe arachnophobe. i hyperventilate & cry & shake & my heart pounds...all that good stuff.
[3] i`m quite long-winded when i don`t need to be. it comes from reading all those damn long books with the descriptions that take up more than half the book...i enjoyed those, actually.
[4] i sucked my thumb up to the age of nine. my family tried everything to get me to quit: pepper on my thumb, gloves, sticking it in bitter melon until my thumb looked all pruney ... nothing worked. absolutely nothing. i finally managed to quit b/c i stuck my hand under my pillow & slept on top of it. now sleeping on my hand is quite the problem with me.
[5] i once ate a whole tub of ice cream on my own. 4L of ice cream. then i realized that 'o my goodness, there`s no ice cream left...' & 'did i eat that all on my own?' what can i say? i used to be big on the ice cream. now it`s all about french fries.
[6] i memorize all my favourite movies & tv shows. to the point where i use movie lines in a lot of my real life interactions...you won`t get it unless you watch the movie, but i don`t mind. it`s apparently a 'boy' trait to have, but i like it.

today was theme tuesday!

i must confess that my life right now has revolved around basketball.
in LARGE amounts.
tuesday`s outfit consisted of a red dress [none of the pics i took quite captured it`s coolness, so i will try again another day] & black belt. they were both in support of my favourite basketball team, the toronto raptors.

wednesday was an exam day. my last one!!! & true to my last post, i procrastinated a whole lot. the exam was at three o`clock, & on that day...
woke up at ten am. went to school, got there by eleven thirty [lucky, b/c my brother dropped me off]. went to eat lunch around twelve thirty. came back to the cafeteria area to study at one-thirty pm. oh, & then i fell asleep at two pm, to wake up fifteen minutes before my exam, & try to write it without having read through my text at all.
i`m so pro.

but exams are over, & it`s summer vacation for me!
summer for me means...

- BASKETBALL!!!
- hanging out with friends :)
- sweating out the water weight
- injuries [every year, i manage to injure myself somehow.]
- cold drinks, food, showers, ice packs, water gun fights, air conditioning...
- a job?
- trying not to get tanned!

today i introduced steph to my friends who live in another neighbourhood from me. they`re my best friends! we hung out, playing basketball & skateboarding...i was very very hyper.

university life : examinations; to study or not to study?

we complain a lot, i know. but as university students, it`s our job to! who else in the whole world feels as entitled as us? (according to our psychology professor, university students suffer from entitlement.)

so it`s examination time, as we`ve mentioned before. for us, it`s the last set of finals for our first year. we envy those (like jellofer @ the miscellaneous place) who are done with university & exams.

we try our hardest to study for these exams, & we really do, but if you looked at us, you wouldn`t think we were studying.
after all, does THIS look like studying?

didn`t think so. but comparing steph [playing the DS] with our other friends sean, mark & john, steph seems to be more close to what regular students do. who really studies days before exams? not us!

mark, studying & listening to music. & slightly conscious of the fact i`m taking pictures of him.

today it was a high of 20 degrees celsius [about 70 degrees farenheit], so i took the opportunity to showcase my newly converted skirt!
remember this theme tuesday where i was wearing a leopard print skirt as a dress, very a la susie bubble?
well i decided to pull the bottom of the skirt up in the four corners of the skirt [where the seams were] & stitch them up against the top of the skirt to make a bubble skirt. it actually turned out pretty good for something that i did while watching the last toronto raptors basketball game of the season.
my head got a bit cut off in these pictures [for some reason, all the clear pictures ended up slicing the top part of my head off], but you can still see what i`m wearing. excuse the random expressions and poses.
