I have had an experience similar to what most religious groups call enlightenment. It started during a very cloudy dark day, as i was walking back from a long day of........okay NOT....actually no where close. So the actual story goes with me reading this article on my laptop and out of no where i stumbled on these gorgeous purses and what not....and as usual they are beyond the price range of my affordability....but WAIT.....they are not for purchase....these purses are from this website that allows an individual to RENT it out....obviously you have to link in your credit card digits...and then you either become a member or remain a guest...but anyway...you can rent out your favourite EXPENSIVE/FLASHY blingging purses...and wait there is more....sunglasses, jewelry, watches and all other little things. Its either montly rentals or weekly, depending on how much you want to change around your purse and lets say you fall in love with a purse...you can 'steal' it...not literally but like purchase it. I am going to give it a try, i was too excited so had to share.

Beyond smitten

It's not like I need a lot of persuasion to go see X-Men Origins: Wolverine, coming out may 1st 2009, with Hugh Jackman alone I'm already sold. But when I finally saw the trailer and realised Taylor Kitsch from FNL and the covanent was playing gambit... I swear I peed myself in excitement and watched covenent for the first time just to indulge in Taylor's sexy. All true, except the peeing myself bit. Just had to share that tid bit of info and profess my love for this boy.

Have not posted in a while. Being away from the blog feels like months rather than days. But I've come bearing gifts! These are photos from front row center at the Metric/Tokyo police club concert in Toronto last friday. I swear my Liver is shot, almost got decapitated by a crowd surfer and my spleen is probably severed from moshing my way to the front. But it was alllll worth it. I got to hold her hand, TWICE, how crazy is that?

She killed it that night, and I absolutely loved when she performed Empty. Gah, they did not disappoint.

Exams, assignments, and layers of winter clothing, i think everyone has something/ or activity/ that helps them cope with obstacles. With all my drama, i find Mandippal's songs and a scoop of chocolate fudge ice cream very comforting........now if i take the next step and say that watching him perform and eating this ice-cream would be UBER comforting...haha...okay lets pop that bubble and get back to reality!!

I think the ladies of styleontheside have already mentionned this artist...and we have also linked some of his work. By the way this saturday (december 6) mandippal Jandu is performing along with some other cool artist at the Statlers (Church & Wellesley - 471 Church St specifically) in support of FREE THE CHILDREN. I think i might go, because free the children specifically is a foundation that has a soft spot in my heart. I have done some volunteer work in Africa with Free the Children. I think all you cool bloggers should come down. :) tickets are 10 dollars!

So whats one thing that gets you by during your most difficult or stressful time? i am curious..i wonder if i am the only one who eats...lol....i wish i was cool and worked out or did some yoga...but NOPE....haha

p.s. so my favourite winter drink by far has to be Starbucks Peppermint Mocha Twist, those losers make be spend big money everytime i pass by one...but i recommend that everyone gives it a try.Mucho Love

Failsafe night

Forewarning: this post is just built to fail since all words are unfit in describing the indescribable events that went down last night. The words awesome, epic, stupendous, sublime, fall terribly short in explaining the time between 7-12AM on November 13, 2008. Lives were saved, asses were shook and only good times were to be had. Usually I'd erupt in a rant describing how bad my grammar is by now but honestly NOTHING makes sense anymore other than Andrew McMahon's voice.

So instead of further killing last nights experience with words I'll bestow upon you photographic proof of Andrew's awesomeness.

HECK she's still smiling as you read this, for she was touched by divinity in the form of a Jack's Mannequin concert.

So I'm hyperventilating thinking about seeing Andrew McMahon live this Thursday with Megs. I've been on a cleansing diet of only Something Corporate and Jack's mannequin for days now. I can totally imagine me being one of those fat girls crying in the crowd in utter awe of meeting one of their idols, like one of those moms at a Clay Aiken concert. This frightens me so, but I can only imagine Megs trepidation of having me beside her.

So when I first heard "Glass Passenger", Jack's mannequins newest release, I kind of loathed it. I found it to be sub-par and not as raw, as I was use to from Something Corporate, and not as catchy as Jack's mannequins previous album "Everything in Transit". Yet after a couple more skims I came to see how beast epic the new album really is. I mean he pretty much left SoCo because he was writing songs that didn't suit the band any longer yet I found comfort in "Everything in Transit" since it had traces of SoCo woven in most songs. I just had to get use to his further departure from SoCo in glass passenger & when it comes down to it, the newest album is as raw and in depth (if not more) as the good ole SoCo days and as catchy as Everything in transit.

I have come across many talented fashion designers, whether its top notch Stefano Gabbana & Domenico Dolce or some young funky vintage shopper who makes their own style. But tonight i have come across someone very unique.....Adriana Bertini...(before you google this artist because many of you might be already fed-up with my rubbish)...hear me out....this brazilian lady was volunteering at an aids prevention group obviously to create awareness and was inspired by working with the children.........Next thing you know, she was using her talent as an artist to create couture out of EXPIRED or quality test REJECTED condoms to make dresses, skirts and suits.



Already its so pretty amazing/crazy funky...oh my gosh i love it......These designs are vibrant and to be honest when i was looking at her stuff, i could not blink...i was sooo......yep...you take a look and tell me!
We take a condom and i assume that majority of us just snap them on us or our partner, but Adriana no no no....she cuts, twists, shapes, melts, pastes, colors, crochets and sculpts them and HOURS later you have a gown made with 6 Thousand 5 hundred condoms!
