The XX is calling

If you're not on them yet, well.. get on em. If you're just not into them. You should just GTFO NOW. I'm a tolerant person, but your kind isn't welcome around here.

I'm completely submersed in the XX right now... and I kinda just wanted to incorporate these photos in more than just my phone contact list. HA enjoy.

Wearing your raincoat? Cause this shit'll get you wet.
ANYwhore, here's some pick up lines for those of you that need em.
You in highschool? What a coincidence! I went to highschool too!
For you particularly scummy people that want to exercise their inner puma/papito. Now take your creepy pick up line, and get the fuck outta here. ya'perves.
*manage a cig off your prospective target* You know I don't really smoke, I just really wanted something of yours in my mouth
This one works for both sexes, but especially in favor for the women. If this doesn't have him buying you a drink or two, you're either hag ugly or barking up the wrong tree. Fortune favors the first reason though... I mean you're using a bloody pick up line.
*flip a coin* So what's my chances of getting head tonight?
For the men: Save this for the special little skank in your life. Or try it out on that girl that just got rejected for using the former pick-up line.
I give great hand jobs... with my mouth.
This is for ya'll nasty ladies that want to be direct and feisty. Do tell how it works out post-deployment. Or don't. I don't know?
If these lines fail, I'm going to blame it on your execution. Everything I write is golden, but you manage to fuck it up. No wonder Simon said such nasty things about you... Well, back to the wreckage that is rejection, ensuing from your fail execution of one of the above lines. Before you leave the scene, you might as well let the fucker burn in huge flames. Go mortal combat on their ass and 'finish' 'em with "you can't afford to be a bitch, you aren't that hot". Just a thought... Then mellow out on some LMFAO.

My bad
Have not posted in a while. Being away from the blog feels like months rather than days. But I've come bearing gifts! These are photos from front row center at the Metric/Tokyo police club concert in Toronto last friday. I swear my Liver is shot, almost got decapitated by a crowd surfer and my spleen is probably severed from moshing my way to the front. But it was alllll worth it. I got to hold her hand, TWICE, how crazy is that?
She killed it that night, and I absolutely loved when she performed Empty. Gah, they did not disappoint.

i`d make a worthy adversary, i`m sure.
in my attempts to TRY finishing the last bit of homework for the semester, i "stumbled" onto lookbook this morning (see how coherent i am?) & found these beautiful beautiful stylish men!
aren`t they hot? aren`t they? *squeeing a little*
i found this awesome & hilarious, as i was wearing just about the EXACT same thing on friday - except my hat is a bright turquoise, & i was wearing dark blue jeans, & my bag is faux-suede & faux-shearling.
(1)these boys are hawt.
(2)this boy must share the same inspirations as me when it comes to dressing. hence, he is hawt.
(3)so is this boy.
i sorely wish to be best friends with a supremely stylish boy, who will indulge me by allowing me to steal parts of their wardrobe to add to my own, but who will also steal parts of my wardrobe because it just fits their aesthetic so.
anyone know where to find me a friend like that?
kisses&squee;

ps. the title of this post has nothing to do with the post itself.

feast your eyes!
Question I get most asked: How do you like it?
Most common answer: It's fun, I like it a lot.
Toughest part of the gig? Well, that would be when I'm creatively stuck and drawing a blank. Before getting into a creativity-oriented field, I didn't realized that there's a difference between using art as a past-time and actually using it with a purpose.
So how do I get out of such a rut? Now I shall recommend a website that anyone looking to be visually inspired should definitely check out...
I actually have a folder full of images that I love, saved from places throughout the web, not just fffound. Just thought I'd share some of the gems...

jae celebrates being nineteen.
random fact...
today is my birthday.
i`m not sure if i should be this excited about being in the last year of my '-teens', but still; birthdays are fun.
my best friend took this photo of me a long time ago...& edited on a hat & a message for me. creative, non?
[purple miami ink t-shirt, from new york - a gift from my best friend]

Mix Monday: Sexy results

Scientifically proven that anything dealing with Ryan Gosling will end sexily. Hence the theme Sexy results.
Party of special things to do - The white stripes
A terribly endearing song. Jack White has the ability to bring "special" feelings that make me want to do "special" things to him. If you know what I mean... No? just me? ok well lets move on then.
Why dont we do it in the road - Dans Fuchs
Off the Across the Universe soundtrack, Dans Fuchs explicitly asks "why dont we do it in the road?" . One reason for certain would be "I don't want to get run over by a car". Still sexy I guess, in theory.
Sexy Results - Death from above 1979
Explanation is in the title. DFA just delivers.
Love cats (the cure cover) - Tricky
Hypnotic, spellbinding, moody number. Spicy. Like last nights curry.

vamps & such.
We all know it's coming, and it's coming soon. That big multi-million dollar movie phenomenon about vampires that caused the Harry Potter movie to be moved back like crazy?
Yeah, you know what I'm talking about. Twilight. I guess before I get into anything, I should add a disclaimer: I'm not a vampire lover, nor am I a Twilight fan. However, I do know that the movie is coming out and that it's creating quite a buzz. And, I have read the first book, but only after pressure from Steph, my sister and my co-workers among others to read it. It was...okay. Yes, the storyline is pretty compelling and the concept one of intrigue, but I just don't think it's written well enough to be considered 'the next Harry Potter' or anything similar. Apologies to the fans, I mean nothing personal!
If you have been living under a rock and know nothing about Twilight, here's the general premise: girl meets boy, girl and boy fall in love. But wait! Boy happens to be a vampire, and it gets a little complicated.
Now, since I'm not a big Twilight follower, I'm not terribly excited for the movie, and truth be told, the trailer didn't really look too promising to me. Nor did the leads look all too attractive. Kristen Stewart? Kinda average. Robert Pattinson? I remember him looking better in Harry Potter...
But then, I found the Vanity Fair photoshoot. And OMG they are gorgeous.
I love how Kristen is rocking Chucks with that amazing dress. She's totally stealing the spotlight.
I feel like Vanity Fair is working magic. This is one hot cast.
And, because we like music at SOS, here are a couple tracks that according to my sister, sum up Twilight:
The Spill Canvas - This is For Keeps
Joshua Radin & Schuyler Fisk - Paperweight
Enjoy!
Megs
P.S. Hahaha can you tell I'm a Harry Potter fan?

Confession of a Serial (Time) Killer
It's the busiest time of the academic year and here I go frittering away my time. It really is hard for me to turn down a good time with friends or inane acts like painting my nails, making music playlists, counting how many steps it takes to get places. When I finally get my ass to the computer I'm distracted by sites like these:
Sleeveface - full of people augmenting parts of their bodies anywhich way with record sleeves to create an illusion. 15 minutes wasted, easy.Contemporary Mix of Genius - This blog title explains what it's about, Pure Genius of the Contemporary sort. Purge what you've learned from dusty old textbooks and enlighten yourself with CMOG.
Cool hunter - A site full of bad ass styles and trends from all over the world.
Sidereel - If the above sites haven't RPG-ed my time to hell, this site surely will. This is where I get my tv show and movie fix. Just watched a season of the UK office and "the science of sleep".
Well I can continue forever on the sites I routinely visit, but along with my great talent at avoiding school work, I was gifted with a short attention span & terrible grammer. So here's a little playlist dealing with time. What's a Steph post without a themed music playlist?
Time after time - Matchbox twenty
Time stops - teenage fanclub
Time to pretend - MGMT
Time for the future - Men Women & Children
Is this the last time? - Spoon
This is the last time - Keane

this isn`t rocket science, this is love.
jae`s got an irregular heart beat, & that`s not good.
so no leaving the house for her.
being a homebody is no fun.
on the plus side, i did find my camera! YAY PETEY!!!
here you go, all!
today`s outfit, comprised of laziness & too-weak-to-get-dressed-pretty-ness.
i decided i needed to get creative with my outfit pics.
just you all wait til i get a better camera.
on the other hand;
there are other fingers. :b
[grey XL men`s tshirt, old navy (stolen from my best friend); blue mid-calf leggings, costa blanca outlet; messy hair & tired eyes, sickness.]

i love this site. a friend introduced it to me, & i love love love it.
i`m going to make an account soon;
as soon as i get a better camera.

i hate spoilers, so none to be found here, but i do want to mention that season two has justified my unconditional love & affection for both blair & jenny.

hats, hoodies & headgear. a post for the plenty.
what is this?
jae is posting?
are you serious???
well, yes, i`m serious. i haven`t posted in a while (life caught up & i decided to take advantage of the fact that there are more people on our blogging team), but here it is : proof jae is not dead.
somehow, i seemed to have missed the part where summer stopped & autumn began.
it`s just..here.
not that i`m complaining. i do love me some autumn.
aside from it being the season of my birthday, it`s also the best season to dress for!
as soon as i could, i began to lust for headgear.
hats, hoodies, scarves, etc...
i mean, who doesn`t like headgear? my hair is in that transitional stage of not-too-short, not-too-long, not-cooperating-but-getting-along so headgear is a blessing on those days when only my bangs are listening.
[note to self: MUST GET HAIR CUT.]
[cream & gold oversized beret: h&m] i love this hat. it was under ten dollars, super cute & goes with my clothes perfectly. plus it`s lightweight so it doesn`t get hot wearing it, but it keeps me warm.
[black tommy hilfiger toque: stolen from brother] this hat used to be my brother`s, but he refuses to wear it so i took it. it`s warm & would be good in winter.
[purple hoodie: stitches] i love hoodies. love them love them love them. & i love to pose too. such a good combo.]
[scarf: h&m] steph bought me this for my birthday last year, & i still love it off. i`ve never worn a scarf like that before, but i think it looks pretty good.
[scarf: ardene] this picture is actually from summertime, but i thought i`d include it because it`s interesting. i never wear headbands like that, so i thought it would be kinda cool to dress like a hippy. feels so seventies.
my cousin & the friend who fashioned a hat out of a plastic bag for him. isn`t it cool? & it could actually be pretty functional.
regine, with her taekwondo belt wrapped around her head. yes, it counts as headgear (although not really practical for everyday use). she did a dance wearing it & it didn`t fall off. it was cute & hilariously funny to watch.
my best friend, neil, with his hood on (pleading "bad hair day"). see, hoods`r`us. & also, does he not have the straightest teeth ever? he makes me wish i`d gotten braces when i was little.
cute little itty bitty baby. isn`t she adorable? she`s the daughter of a family friend, & this dress was absolutely cute. [note: i put her hood on her head for her, expressly for this photo...she got annoyed immediately & pulled it off. but still, cute nonetheless!]
verdict? headgear = awesome.

i`ll present you with random facts...sometime tomorrow maybe.

ps: sorry that all the photos are really crappy quality - i still can`t find my petey (my camera) & so i`m stuck using baeley (my cellphone) for photos. well, anything`s better than nothing, right?
